"The ability to look deeply
is the root of creativity.
To see past the ordinary and mundane
and get to what might otherwise be invisible."
-Rick Rubin

I'm deeply passionate about art and design, I think both things complement each other beautifully. For me, good design is found beyond the aesthetic nature of the matter. Good design proposes solutions and it is empatethic with its enviornment and users. It provides a better well being all around.

From charmingly designed cities, to appealing posters on the subway, to attractive logos on the front of stores, to perfectly composed photorgaphy in magazines and social media. Good design is thought through and througout, and it cares for its impact. I believe good design can help transform the world we live in, which is in desperate need of positive change.

Who is Hiromi Kaneko?

I like to think of myself as an observer who puts into practice what learns from the act. In the act of observing, listening and really paying attention to the world around us, we are able to discover what others cannot, and it becomes inspiration or the discovery of a problem we did not know we had. Besides my passion for getting fully and personally involved in projects, the truth is I love design. I am in love with it, because it's everywhere and its intersectionality makes it so rich. Honestly, my love for design comes from the joy I get from learning different perspectives and trying new skills. I don't believe I can ever be an expert on anything, it would be impossible, there is always something new.

Just like any other field, designers exist in a wide range of ideas and opinions because in the end it is how us designers express ourselves, and the connection it creates is an interesting and powerfull tool that when it's used properly, it can change everything in a project.

Ever since I was a child I used to imagine stories and concepts to later create a piece to tell what I was thinking. That is why I like to tip my toes on every field possible, such as product design, graphic design, architecture, photography, videography, illustration and animation. Whenever I feel comfortable and like it enough, I dive in.

Storytelling and concepts are a key part of every one of my projects. Aesthetic aspects are important, but almost everyone could come up with a nice and beautiful to the eye composition. What makes a project interesting is the deeper meaning that backs it up. That is how people relate to it, and what creates the connection I was talking about before. For me, that is what matters the most: for people to look at something and have an opinion besides them liking the looks of it or not.
